Chicken momo:Introduce

Chicken momo is especially made for chicken. Chicken momo is non veg momos.The chicken momo recipe and veg momo recipe is similar but slightly different.Veg momo uses veg items while chicken momo uses chicken.

You can easily make chicken momo at home by following the method given below.

Before making chicken momo, you need the following ingredients.

S.n.     Ingredients/Quantity


1.            Chicken meat chopped(boneless) (200gm)

2.            Cabbage chopped (1 small piece/ 70gm)

3.            Spring onion chopped(1)

4.            Coriander leaves chopped(30gm)

5.            Momo masala (Spice)

6.            Red chilli powder (1 spoon)

7.            Turmeric powder(half spoon)

8.            Salt (to taste)

9.            Ginger and garlic paste (2 spoon)

10.          Mustard oil (2 spoon)

11.          Flour(2 cups)


Note : You can also use the quantity of ingredients and ingredients according to your own.



Chicken momo recipe (momo recipe):


Chicken momo stuffing (kima):

Now put the chopped chicken meat in a bowl. Then add chopped onions. Similarly add cabbage, spring onions, coriander leaves, momo masala(Spice) or garam masala(Spice), red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt, ginger and garlic paste, mustard oil and at the end add a little (20ml) water. And mix it all well by hand. It is very important to put water in our filling because it gives a juicy texture when momo is cooked. After mixing it well, momo stuffing (kima) is ready.


Now make the dough. Then take a little dough from that dough and make momo wrap / fold. The method of making momo wrap / fold I have explained in detail in the last article. You can read it by going to the link given below. read step 2 

How to make dough and momo wrap/fold(Dumpling)?


After making wrap / fold of momo, now make the shape of chicken momo. For that, take a wrap / fold of a momo and put 1 or half spoon chicken momo stuffing / kima in it. And make it into a round shape. Use the method below to create a round shape. Press the filling with left hand's thumb and pinch one side of the dough cover / wrap / fold with right hand's index finger and the thumb. In this way, pull a little amount of dough with index finger and stick it to the dough which is in the right hand's thumb. When you are making round momo, right hand's thumb should not move at all.


Long style momo shape:
It is exactly the same as making round momo but here your right hand's thumb moves forward with the index finger.

After making round and long style shape momo, now we will steam or cook the momo. For that, boil water in a momo pot. Then apply a little oil on the momo placing area of ​​the momo pot and place the round or long shape momo. Once the water starts to boil, put the momo to steam. Now cover and steam for 15 minutes. After steaming for 15 minutes, put it on a plate and eat it with your favorite pickle.
