Buff momo: introduce

Buff momo is mainly made from buff meat and flour. Buff momo recipe is more special than other momo and it is yummy and delicious. Buff momo is everyone favourite momo in nepal. You can easily make buff momo at home. Buff momo is mostly eaten dishes in nepal. Buff momo is the best selling momo in Kathmandu valley. It is yummy and delicious food.


Buff momo is made from buffalo meat so is not eaten by most people in the Bahun, Chettri and Thakuri communities of Nepal. Some people from this community living in Kathmandu valley eat buff momo while people from Bahun, chettri, thakuri community living in the western part of Nepal do not eat buff momo and also buff meat at all.


Buff momo is eaten especially by the people of the newari community of nepal. Buff meat is a must in the diet of the people of the Newari community. The favourite meat of the people in this community is buff meat. Buff momo price rate is lower than chicken momo price rate in all restaurants. 


Make buff momo easily at home using the method given below.


Buff momo recipe :

First you need the following ingredients:

S.n.     Ingredients/Quantity:

1.          Fresh buff kima (chopped buff meat boneless fat removed) 

2.          Onion chopped (1)

3.          Cabbage chopped (1 small)

4.          Ginger and garlic paste (2spoon) 

5.          Coriander leaves chopped 

6.          Coriander powder (half spoon)

7.          Cumin powder (half spoon)

8.          Salt (to taste)

10.        Tasting powder (half spoon) 

11.        Black papper (half spoon) 

12.        Butter (100gm) 

13.        Red chilli powder (half spoon)

14.        Meat masala(half spoon) 

15.        Garam masala(half spoon) 

16.        Dark soya sauce(10ml)

17.        Oil(80ml)

18.        Flour(2 cup)


Note : You can also use the quantity of ingredients  according to your own.


First you need to make buff momo stuffing(kima).


Buff momo stuffing(kima): 

Now take a big bowl and put buff meat (kima) in it. Now add chopped onion in it. Add coriander leaves, cabbage, salt, coriander powder, red chilli powder,cumin powder,meat masala, garam masala, black papper, dark soya sauce in it. Now take a pan and heat butter in it. Put ginger and garlic paste in the heated butter and fry it. Now pour this hot oil in the previous bowl along with the other ingredients from above. Now mix all these ingredients well for 3-5 minutes. After mixing well for 3-5 minutes, your buff momo stuffing or filling (kima) is ready

After making momo now steam that momo.


Buff Momo Steam processing:

Now put a little oil inside the momo making pot. (Apply oil to the momo placing area).


Place the prepared buff momo for steam in a momo making pot. Steam it for at least 15minutes. After steaming for 15 minutes, turn off the flame. Place the steamed buff momo on a plate. Now eat it with your favorite pickle.
