Newari laddu/Coconut laddu

Newari laddu is a type of dessert made from coconut powder. It can also be called coconut balls. It is very good and easy to make. It is mainly made from coconut powder. The newari laddu is also called coconut laddu in India and in Nepal it is also called coconut laddu. It can be made very fast and quick. It can be easily bought in many grocery stores in Nepal and it can be made very easily at home. newari laddu is especially prevalent in the newari community of Nepal. They like it very much. In the newari community, after worshiping God, newari laddu is also given as a prasad.

You can make it easily and quickly at home. Follow the procedure below to make it.

Some ingredients you need to make it:

S. N.              Ingredients/Quantity

1.                    Coconut powder(300gm) 

2.                    Khuwa(200gm) 

3.                    Condensed milk(100ml) 

4.                    Sugar(50gm) 

5.                    Cardamom powder(2gm) 

6.                    Shredded nuts to garnish(5gm) 



Cooking method:

1) In a pan mix khuwa, condensed milk, sugar, cardamom powder, and cook for awhile when thick remove from heat. 

2) When this mixture is still warm mix in coconut powder. 

3) Mix and turn into balls

4) Garnish with shredded nuts. 



Newari laddu



In Nepali Style:

Ingredients ;

Coconut powder:2 cup

Sugar:3/4th cup or 150gm

Crushed almond: 1/3 cup

Cardamon powder : 1/2 tea spoon

Condensed milk:450ml


Cooking method of newari laddu

Take a pan and heat it. Once the pan is hot, add coconut powder. After adding coconut powder, add milk and stir it over medium heat. Use it carefully as it will burn and spoil. Once the coconut powder has absorbed the milk well, add sugar to it. After adding sugar, stir it and cook.Now after it becomes soft after a while, add almond and sweetmeat powder in it and cook it while stirring well. Once well cooked, let it cool for a while. Once it is well cooled, make it round circular (laddu) by soaking it with a little water with your hands.Make a round circular laddu and spread the dried coconut powder all around. Now your new laddu has been ready.
