chatamari is a nepali famous food. Especially it is very popular inside Kathmandu valley but Not very famous outside Kathmandu valley. chatamari is a newari cuisine. Chatamari is also called nepali pizza because it looks like pizza. There are many variants of chatamri. For example: egg chatamari, chicken chatamari, plain chatamari and mix chatamari. The only difference is that if you like chicken, you have to use chicken, if you like egg, you can use egg. If you like both, you can use both items in small quantities.If you do not like both, you can make plain or veg chatamari. This is your choice.Chatamari is believed to have originated from the Newari caste of Nepal.Newari eat it as an appetizer or as a snack, and sometimes with other foods.

It is made from rice flour. Therefore, it has a high content of carbohydrates. Chatamari is now very famous in the districts of Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Kritipur near Kathmandu. But this chatamari is very rare in the western districts. The price of chatamari is Rs. 100 for plain chatamari and Rs. 160 for chicken, Rs. 180 for mix chatamri.However, the price varies according to the restaurant, hotel. Tourists visiting Nepal are very fond of chatamari.


Today we will learn how to make mix chatamari. If you don't like any of the mix chatamari or buff, chicken, egg then don't use any of these disliked items. If you want to make plain / veg chatamari

Some ingredients you need to make this food:

S. N.             Ingredients/Quantity 

1.                   Rice flour(1 cup) 

2.                   Flour(1/4 cup) 

3.                   Chicken/buff cooked to dry(2 cup) 

4.                   Chop onions(100gm) 

5.                   Chop toamtoes(100gm) 

6.                   Chop chili(5gm) 

7.                   Chop coriander(10gm) 

8.                   Egg(6)

9.                   Salt(as needed) 



Instructions/Cooking method/newai chatamari recipe

1) Mix flour with salt and enough Quantity of water to obtain a thick batter. 

2) Heat a flat thick tawa spread about 100 ml of batter to round. 

3) Sprinkle all topings, break one egg cover and cook at low for 15 minutes server garnished with coriander.
